Conference A and B RSVP – Please RSVP for BOTH Conference A and Conference B before Friday July 10th at 12:00pm (Noon).  NO LATE RSVP’s WILL BE ACCEPTED.  Based on the availability of all swimmers to participate for these weekends, the coaches will have the ability to build the 2 strongest teams to swim both conference meets.  There are MANY variables that the coaches need to consider when building these teams – and the coaches need to know who is available. Conference A is a multi-team meet where swimmers are scored based the fastest times for each event.  This meet is about who can swim the fastest and score the highest number of points.  Conference B focus’ on who can beat their best time for an event.  Each swimmer who beats their best time is awarded 1 point.  These points are added to the team’s points in Conference A.  It is the combination of points from both meets that determine the final score for each team.  If you swim in Conference A – you cannot swim in Conference B.  If you swim in Conference B – they cannot swim in Conference A EXCEPT as an alternate on a relay race in Conference A.  More information regarding Conference meets are located on the DSDC website:  http://swimdsdc.org/documents/dsdc-bylaws.pdf - Look for the chapter titled: “ARTICLE IV. SPECIFIC SWIMMING RULES”.  If you have any questions - please contact your coaches or one of the Board Members.

Car Wash  (Event Owner:  Doris Mitchell) – This SUNDAY- July 12, 2015 – Parking Lot of Links & Tees on Lake Street. This is a car wash staffed by the Frogs and their families.  We are working out the remaining details with the management at Links N Tees on Lake Street - but please plan on spending a couple of hours with the team washing cars and having a great time.  All profits from this event go straight to the Frogs expenses.
20150708 Update – The carwash is a GO for Sunday – Come help us wash cars for donations to the team.  If you can’t wash cars – please plan on dropping off snacks, waters, etc, or by helping to advertise and hold advertisement posters next to Lake Street to urge more cars to attend the cars, sell chocolate bars, or a number of other.   In the past, we have NOT had enough older kids to help wash cars – and the 8 and under kids have a hard time washing the bigger SUVs and trucks.   Please contact Doris Mitchell and RSVP on the Frogs Calendar.  We are also looking for people to bring hoses, water spray nozzles etc….

World's Finest Chocolates (Event Owner:  Doris Mitchell)- Doris Mitchell has sent an e.mail to all active Frogs families about a volunteer Chocolate fund raiser.  We have done sales such as this in the past and the profit for the team works out to be 50% of the items sold.  The Frog Board has invested in 30 boxes of chocolate - and if all bars are sold - we will make $900 in profit.  The original announcement e.mail is posted on the Main Frogs practice this morning - we have handed out 13 boxes.  If you have not already done so - and if you are able to help - please contact Doris Mitchell about checking out a box or two and selling as much as you can.
20150708 Update – All boxes of chocolates have been allocated to families. For those of you who have already taken boxes – please try to have the chocolate sold by Monday, July 13th at practice.  If you have sold your chocolates before this time – please contact Doris directly to arrange turning over your cash.  Let’s work hard to wrap up the selling of these chocolates – thanks to all who have agreed to help.

Event Owners (and volunteers) needed for Frog Team Events coming soon.... Please talk to one of the board members if you would like to help out with the Car Wash, the Frog-A-Thon, Planning our trip to Magic Waters after the season, Our end of year Banquet, and other possibilities for Fund Raising.  If you can assist in any way with the planning and executing of any of these items - please contact one of the Frog Board.  Right now we have some volunteers - but not nearly enough.... so please help out in any way possible.

Conference TP Night – Thursday, July 16th (Coordinator:  Jeff Mitchell)– Plan on teaming up with other swimmers and TP’ing our friend’s homes.  On Thursday, July 16th – come to Culvers on the corner of Lake Street and Lombard Road to start.  Maps of swimmer houses will be “clustered” to grouping of homes that are close to each other.  In a couple of hours of fun, we will be able to decorate everyone’s homes.  In preparation for this event- we also need to create posters / sighs to leave behind for each family.  Who can help coordinate the creation of these posters?

Fund Raising - We have many expenses as a Booster club including the end of season banquet, swimmer gifts, tickets to Magic Waters, etc.  We are also starting an effort to save for a new starter system and wireless stopwatches from the Colorado Time System.  We are looking at the Dolphin series with either 2 or 3 watches per lane.  This system will cost between $3500 and $4500 .  depending on the options that are selected.  This system will also directly feed the Hy-Tek Meet Manager software that we are already using to run the swim meets and will streamline the scoring process.

Frog-A-Thon (Event Owner Needed)- Wednesday 7/15/2015 - This is a Swim-a-Thon format fund raiser.  Swimmers can seek pledges from friends and family for laps swam or flat rate.  The event is scheduled during normal swim practice times.  If you are participating in the Frog-a-Thon and submitting pledges to the team - you can swim your laps during your normally scheduled practice time.  If you are not submitting pledges - the coaches will be running a few lanes for normal practice.  More information to come for this event.
20150708 Update – We are designing pledge sheets to be distributed via the family folders and via E.mail to each family.  This event will be held during the normal morning practice schedule

Eat Out Nights  We have been contacted by a number of organizations who have helped the Frogs in previous years and are trying to confirm dates for "Eat Out" profit sharing evening. Stav's on Lake Street, Culvers on Lake and Lombard Road, and Oberweis in Schaumburg (where Coach G also works) are all being finalized.  We are running out of time in the summer schedule - but I am hoping that all 3 will work out.
20150708 Update -  Culver’s Eat In profit sharing evening is being confirmed for Thursday July 16th.  This is the evening of the Conference TP night.  We are planning on starting the evening at Culvers so show up early and help make money for the Frogs.   Stav’s has agreed to host an Eat-In profit sharing day on July 21st  This is an ALL DAY event at Stavs. sMore information regarding each of these evenings will be distributed.

Team Apparel- Look at "The Swim Team Store" on the Frogs Home Page -shttp://www.thelifeguardstore.com/lgsteams/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=2971 with a wide selection of Frogs apparel.  These items are ordered directly from the Swim Store and shipped to your home. If you need extra large or extra small sizes that are not listed on the website – they ARE available – please contact The Swim Team Store for pricing.
20150708 Update – This website will be kept online at the end of the season.

Team Banquet - Sunday July 26th - Set aside Sunday after Conference A for our annual team banquet. This is a great way to wrap up the season as we honor our swimmers and have dinner. This year the banquet will be held at Community pool and which will be open to swim for the team members and their families.  More information coming soon.
20150708 Update – The final vendor for food and beverage is being narrowed down and once this has been completed, we will be able to post the price per guest for the banquet.  Contact Alyssa Seider if you have questions.

Magic Waters - Monday July 27th - Planning for our post season Magic Waters team trip is under way.  Again this year - we (the board) will be taking care of the tickets for the swim team - and we have negotiated a VERY good rate on behalf of the families who would like to come along.  This is always a great time for everyone to relax and enjoy the Magic Waters water park in Rockford, IL -http://www.magicwaterswaterpark.com/
20150708 – Update – Rates for friends and families – Ages 3 and up:  $11.50 each, Ages 2 and below: $5.00  Please contact Ismini Stavropoulos ([email protected]) regarding reserving tickets for your family.

Frogs Costume - One final note - If anyone has any connection with any of the local dry cleaners - please let someone on the board know.  We need to get the Frog's mascot suit cleaned before the Conference Meets.  It is a full body suit with mask Frogs costume.  If anyone knows someone or has any connections at the dry cleaners who might be able to get us a discount - please let us know.  The Dry cleaners will be listed on the Frogs Website as a sponsor if they can help.

Family Fund and Volunteer Fund Checks – If you have not given your $25 Family Fund payment and/or your Volunteer Fund payment to one of the board - please take care of this ASAP.
