Mock Meet
The Beach Waterpark WoodDale

This is NOT an actual competitive meet. It is a fictional rehearsal of a meet, as an attempt to familiarize new families with how an actual meet transpires. Ideally, we will rehearse a few swimming races, or "events", with swimmers in the pool, and volunteer parents officiating. Please practice signing up your swimmer by clicking on "Meet Entry". Please practice signing up for volunteer jobs by clicking "Job Signup". NOTE: Volunteer jobs open for this meet have been multiplied in order to allow all families to practice signing up. For actual meets, significantly less jobs are needed. Coaches will hold "warm ups" (which is similar to practice) from 5:30 to 6:00pm. Mock Meet will begin at approximately 6:00pm, so parents should be present on the pool deck by this time. A demonstration of how swim meets operate will be given, including a description of each of the various jobs/roles performed by volunteers, as well as the location of where they are performed by the pool. We will then simulate some racing events like those that would occur in an actual meet. If technical conditions allow, our "Dolphin" timing system may be set up for the simulations. At approximately 7:00pm, all swimmers should be out of the pool, and we will have a pizza party in the picnic bench area directly west of the concession stand. All Sharks families are encouraged to participate. Pizza, pop, and water will be provided compliments of the Parent Club; but you may bring your own food & drinks in coolers. Portable chairs are also allowed. Alcohol is prohibited on park district grounds. The pizza party will end at 8:00pm. Make sure to bring extra towels and clothing for your swimmers to wear at the pizza party. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have during the party, or to voice any concerns. Memorial Day Parade

2026 Maps may be found here under "Memorial Day Maps" PLEASE RSVP ASAP! Parade begins at 11:00am - staging begins at 9:30am The Sharks will return at this year's Wood Dale Memorial Day Parade! We will be marching/passing out candy as a team, but also as a part of the Wood Dale Park District. All Sharks and their families are welcome. Wear Sharks spirit wear if you have it! Our group number is #23 We are marching along with the Wood Dale Park District. Participants can either park at the Wood Dale Bowl west parking lot, and then jump on a shuttle bus to the parade staging area on Elizabeth drive; or be dropped off at the west end of the staging area at the corner of Elizabeth Drive & Addison Rd,. or the east end at the corner of Elizabeth and Wood Dale Rd. Our TBD area should be somewhere in the middle of Elizabeth Drive, most likely nearer to Wood Dale Rd. Please follow the City’s social media pages and website for possible schedule changes or weather-related updates. |

The Sharks continue the tradition of the swim team's participation in the annual Addison - Medinah Shriners' Parade! ALL PARTICIPATING SHARKS WILL RECIEVE A COUPON FOR FREE SMALL DAIRY QUEEN BLIZZARD! (OR POSSIBLY A CONE) PARADE CHECK-IN IS AT Addison Trail High School parking lots at Lombard Rd. and W. Army Trail Bld. STARTS AT 12:30PM. Please plan to arrive at ATHS between 12:30 pm and no later than 2:45 pm. SHARKS ARE UNIT 11 If you require parking, please plan to park at either Indian Trail Jr. High School (use East Drive off Kennedy) or Green Meadow Shopping Center. School bus shuttles will operate continuously from these parking lots to ATHS from 12:30-2:30pm. Shuttles pickup is from the front of the Jr. High and at Green Meadows Shopping Center sign. THERE WILL BE NO PARTICIPANT PARKING AVAILABLE AT ADDISON TRAIL HIGH SCHOOL. If you are dropping off a parade participant, please approach ATHS from the North from Lake St. Only. Note Lombard Rd. is under construction, follow signage directions. Restrooms will be available between Noon and 3pm at entrance #5 on the north side of building. ATHS Gym (entrances #6) will be available in case of extreme heat or threatening weather. Free Water will be available in your staging area. The Parade will step off promptly at 3pm. and will be utilizing the two east bound lanes of Army Trail Bld. for the parade. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU MAINTAIN THE PACE OF THE PARADE. Keep a distance of about fifty feet (two to three car lengths) behind the unit in front of you. The parade route ends after the Parade Reviewing Stand at Kennedy Drive and Lincoln Ave. You are cordially invited to the Parade After Party on the Village Green from 4:30-8pm. Sharks parade banners and flags will be displayed, and we will be handing out candy to the crowd. Please wear Sharks apparel if you can! Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can correctly estimate our required parade application. You may bring your own portable chairs and coolers, including alcoholic beverages to the after party. 3rd Annual Sharks Waterpark Trip! Free Transportation via school bus pending! Stay tuned! Admission tickets for team swimmers will be compliments of the Parent Club. Due to high group ticket prices, the Parent Club is not able to pay for admission for additional family members, including driver parents. Parents and siblings will need to purchase their own admission. You can Zelle Karyn Regan 630-453-1515 if you want to take advantage of our tiny group rate discount (TBD). Please RSVP regardless of whether or not you choose to attend; and include in the comments how many admission passes and how many parking passes you already possess (if none, enter "None" or "Zero"). We don't want to order more tickets than we need, and it may be possible to distribute extra parking passes of swimmers already possessing passes. Hurricane Harbor does not accept cash. If your swimmer is attending without access to a credit/debit card, there are cash to debit card kiosks available on site, or you can contact John Regan: [email protected] / 630-453-1515 to make other arrangements. We will meet at the pool at 9:00am, and leave no later than 9:30am. Park closes at 6:00pm so will return by approx. 7:00pm at the pool for those swimmers who need to be picked up. |
