    Mock Meet
Wood Dale Park District Recreation Complex
    Start: 5:30 PM
    End: 8:00 PM

Mock Meet is a chance for new parents and swimmers to learn what a swim meet is like, and to meet Sharks teammates and families.

Coaches will hold "warm ups" (which is similar to practice) from 5:30 to 6:00pm. Mock Meet will begin at approximately 6:00pm, so parents should be present on the pool deck by this time. A demonstration of how swim meets operate will be given, including a description of each of the various jobs/roles performed by volunteers, as well as the location of where they are performed by the pool. We will then simulate some racing events like those that would occur in an actual meet. If technical conditions allow, our "Dolphin" timing system may be set up for the simulations.

At approximately 7:00pm, all swimmers should be out of the pool, and we will have a pizza party in the picnic bench area directly west of the concession stand. All Sharks families are encouraged to participate. Pizza, pop, and water will be provided compliments of the Parent Club; but you may bring your own food & drinks in coolers. Portable chairs are also allowed. Alcohol is prohibited on park district grounds. The pizza party will end at 8:00pm.

Make sure to bring extra towels and clothing for your swimmers to wear at the pizza party. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have during the party, or to voice any concerns.

Our group number is 22. We are marching along with the Wood Dale Park District, right in front of our bank, Wood Dale Wintrust.

Participants can park at the Wood Dale Bowl west parking lot, and then jump on a shuttle bus to the parade staging area on Elizabeth drive; or be dropped off at either the west end of the staging area at the corner of Elizabeth Drive & Addison Rd,. or the east end at the corner of Elizabeth and Wood Dale Rd. Our number 22 area should be somewhere in the middle of Elizabeth Drive, most likely near the forest preserve entrance.

All we know for now is the following information we have received from the parade organizers:

Sharks Volunteer for Addison Park Pride
    Addison Community Recreation Center
    Start: 9:00 AM
    End: 12:00 PM (estimated)

Please join us in giving back to our communities by helping to beautify the site of the old Addison pool! On Saturday, May 11, the Addison Park District will be hosting a "Park Pride" event, with participants performing various landscaping work in Addison Parks. Besides the fact that as a Shark, each of our swimmers should wish to act as involved and valued members of our communities, this is the kind of event that would bolster each participant's "Sharks Spirit" evaluation for future scholarship consideration! So let's get involved and get dirty!

All participating Sharks will work together at the Addison Community Center. Map and directions may be found here. We're going to register as a team on the morning of the event, but please RSVP above, and include t-shirt sizes in the Comments section. Work begins at 9:00am, so please arrive at no later than 8:45, so we get everybody registered and checked in. In addition to a free t-shirt, all participants, including parents, will receive a sack lunch, courtesy of the Addison Park District. In case your preferred t-shirt size is not available, please wear a Sharks shirt if you have one. We're going to work somewhat hard and definitely outside and dirty, so please wear appropriate shoes as well.

More info may be found here. All members of Sharks families are welcome to participate, including additional guests. Please RSVP accordingly.
